Hovercruise

This was the hovercraft cruise on the day after Bob Windt's 60th birthday.

Ken Roberts, John Windt, Bill Zang, Marquis Songer.

John and I went in his uh-15p, Bill and Marquis went in the Neoteric.

The boat is some guy we found on at the turnaround. That boat was homebuilt, maybe 20 years old and very, very fast. I was thinking 60mph, John thought 65. The boat was just pulling away from us, but John wasn't pushing it all out with both of us in the craft and some cameras/video equipment.

Oh, this was the Fox river starting at Elgin(?) and going both north and south. The boat was at the south end of the cruise, just above the dam.

Not sure how it happened, but John's UH-15p wasn't in any picture on this cruise, unless you count the arc of the windshield visible here and elsewhere.

This is probably one of the favorite pictures I've taken of a hovercraft. I printed the higher quality version (not on the web site) and when it came out of the printer I was looking at it upside down. It took me a while to figure out what was wrong with it.
