This is the first day I hired Universal Hovercraft to work on my craft. Bob
did the work, unless someone else helped earlier.
He got a lot done, and I helped when I got off work. He's way faster than I
would be, but I guess that's what comes from decades of experience.
| I just got here at the end of my work day. Bob already had the duct
glued on and the tunnel too.
| The first major deviation from plans: This angled piece that widens
out from behind the duct to the bottom. This was my idea, based on how
well the UH-12r lift system works. Bob liked the idea and went for it.
This is, I think, the first time Bob said "I like that idea" to one of my
modifications. Happy day!
| The bottom strip is glued on already and stapled. Now we glue the
surfaces.
| Meanwhile I foamed the duct better. This foam needs help in that if
you don't compress it somehow you get big voids. It seems to work OK
otherwise.
| Bob is finishing the glue on the cockpit wall now. This only took a
few minutes and since there was only one brush handy I didn't start working
on another.
| Here I jumped in and we stuck the side to the strip and stapled it with
an air stapler. I picked the camera back up when we got done.
| We found a brush so I helped here. Now there's a strip on top of the
cockpit wall.
| Other side now, I was busier so I didn't photograph as many steps.
