IMG_0032.jpg The "not so mystery machine" still looks like it did last time I was there.
IMG_0033.jpg Today was when I took care of the butt joints on plywood that Bob did. I took a flat piece of 1/8 ply and a 1x2. The plywood stays, the 1x2 is what the staple grabs onto until the epoxy dries.

IMG_0035.jpg This is a good example of what I was doing. You might have noticed that before today this seam was overlapping. I took a straightedge and eyeballed the center (I missed by over an inch) from the nose to the cockpit. I marked it, and cut through the plywood with a utility knife. This is not noticeably slower than using a saw, and you have no gap. On second thought I clamped the bottom piece to the top one so the board wouldn't jiggle and make the line crooked.
